Mold Guidelines & Policies

It is RPMP's policy that the term "mold" should never be used in communications, unless confirmed mold is a fact. Instead, the term "Microbial Growth" will always be used when discussing these matters with clients, customers, and vendors.

If a tenant complains about an odor at a property and thinks there is "Microbial Growth," RPMP's policy is to follow the VRLTA guidelines. Mold MUST BE VISIBLE for any specific action to be taken. Otherwise, musty, or damp odors will be dealt with by installing a de-humidifier, as needed.

RPMP has a responsibility to educate Owners on VRLTA laws regarding Mold and the impact or ramifications of the actions or inactions of testing for Mold at the property. RPM Pros notifies Qwners as soon as practical of any mold/microbial growth issues so we and/or the property owner can take the proper steps. Owners are hereby advised to immediately repair all roof, plumbing, sewage, drainage, pool or other leaks that can cause mold, as delays can cause costly remediation.
